Thunder Bay and the Ontario Countryside

We left Sudbury around 9am this morning. Our sleep was comfortable and were surprised at how clean it was for a shotty motel.

Our drive was very scenic and we took a lot of pictures. Andre and I decided that we wanted to try to avoid fast food, so we stopped at a grocery store in some little town and bought bread, mustard and lunch meat with some veggies on the side.

We took lots of pictures at various scenic lookout spots along the highway. The great lakes are beautiful. The roads are full of hills, valleys and mountains. They're a little bit difficult to drive in if you're not paying attention. We actually saw a tractor trailer who ran himself off the road.

We stopped at a "rest stop" along the highway (photos above) and along the guard rail were the various markings of people who had passed by there on a trip. Of course I had to add to it.

We stopped in White Rock, which is the hometown of Winnie the Pooh. I got a T-Shirt for my quilt. :-)

We got into Thunder Bay, and I was very surprised at how industrial-looking the whole town is. To give you an example, our motel looks like a regular motor hotel on he outside, but inside the walls are cinderblock brick. There aren't any pictures on the walls. Very bare-bones. I have a feeling a lot of the town is like this. Even the houses and various buildings lack creativity in architecture.

Anyway, we are on our way to bed. Tomorrow is another long day of driving.

Tooloo!
